Output flickers when changing applications

I’m having difficulty getting a stable video output via CasparCG on an extended windows desktop. I have CasparCG outputting a fullscreen video player on an extended desktop that connects to a Blackmagic Design 12G HDM > SDI converter.

When I have the player running and switch between other open applications using the taskbar, the output of the Caspar player flickers to black before resuming the output. It happens when changing applications or even clicking on the desktop.

PC Specs:

CPU - 13th Gen Intel i7-13700K
Mobo - ASUS ProArt z790-CREATOR WIFI
Memory - 16Gb DDR5
Storage - Samsung SSD 990 PRO 1TB NVMe
GPU - Nvidia GeForce RTX 4060Ti 8Gb

This issue occurs regardless of video format of the extended desktop. I have tried the following formats:

1080i50
1080i25
1080p25
1080p60
1080p50

The machine is fully up to date in regards to Windows Update and nVidia drivers and I am using the latest release of CasparCG Windows.

I have similar machines running the same task without issue. The only real difference is that I am using a GTX 1050Ti.

Has anyone else experienced this before? Happy to post my Caspar config to help diagnose this issue.

Thanks!

Rory

Why not use a Decklink card or an UltraStudio? That usually works better, than the screen consumer.

Hello! I am using a decklink card to generate Key + Fill signals out of the same computer. I use the fullscreen output for non key + fill graphics/ still media. The three outputs make up the entire graphics output for one of our production galleries. When the fullscreen extended desktop CasparCG window isn’t being used, we usually have powerpoint running behind it.

Makes kind of sense.
