Hi everyone,
I wanted to share a small integration example that might be useful for anyone building studio workflows around CasparCG.
We recently tested controlling a PoE studio ON AIR lamp directly from CasparCG using the OSC protocol, which is already natively supported by the server. The setup turned out to be extremely simple, so I recorded a short video showing how it works.
VIDEO:
In this example CasparCG sends OSC commands during playout, and the ON AIR lamp reacts to those messages.
The device has a built-in web interface where you can:
• monitor all incoming OSC messages in real time
• select which OSC message should be tracked
• define the specific string that should trigger the ON AIR indication
Because of this live monitoring view, it is very easy to connect the lamp to existing playout or automation workflows.
This approach could be useful in environments such as:
• TV studios
• radio studios
• playout control rooms
• podcast studios
• broadcast production facilities
The device is a PoE-powered RGB signal lamp designed for studio environments.
Besides OSC it can also be controlled via:
• TSL 3.1
• Ember+
• Probel SW-P-08
• REST API
• MQTT
I thought this might be interesting for the CasparCG community since OSC integration is already widely used in broadcast setups and automation systems.
Curious to hear if anyone here is using similar workflows with CasparCG and OSC.
