How do i use mixer effects?

Hi,
I am new to this software and i cannot figure out how to use mixer effects. I don’t have a mixer however i can’t find whether I need one or not.

The MIXER effects work with the internal mixer of Caspar and are used to manipulate layers. There are explainations of all mixer effects in the wiki on Github.
