Hello folks,

From memory, only the decklink consumer supports it, and cannot do an alpha channel. Only the ffmpeg producer is supported.
I havent done enough testing of it to know if there are any quirks in how to use it or what happens if playing SDR content on the HDR channel.
So its enough for certain use cases, but its a subset of features supported currently
There are a lot of issues still. If your input (via ffmpeg) is well defined and you configure the output (decklink) accordingly you will probably get (at least close to) the desired result. But SDR on HDR or HDR on SDR will not produce correct result.
I want to adress this, correct color space and gamut conversions, within the coming month when I (and Claude) get back up to speed with Vulkan (unless someone else contributes it sooner). But no matter who contributes it, I think the limiting factor when it comes to getting this into master, will be testing on equipment that support these modes and having something to compare to.
Thank you, Julusian,
I’m building a video loop engine with 6 output channels using a DeckLink Quad 2 at 59.94 output from each channel. I haven’t tested with the HDR content yet. Also, I don’t need a screen consumer, only a DeckLink consumer, as I am using it in a broadcast environment and for loop playout.
Hi @niklas,
What you mean a lot of issues? Are you talking about the stability of CasparCG 2.5.0 in general, or specifically about HDR content? I want to loop HDR clips and having HDR output from the Decklink Quad 2. I need 6 output channels playing this HDR content in a loop, with no input. Normally, the content is saved locally on the machine. For machine specs, I’m using an HP Z840 with 64 GB of RAM, an Nvidia Quadro K5200, and a GPU. I think it is good enough for this type of job. The Decklink Quad 2, according to the specs, is capable of HDR, but I have never tried it before, and I don’t know if it suits the purpose I want to use it for.
The remark about many issues was only with regards to the HDR support
