CasparCG for theatre productions

CasparCG has been used in theatre before but this might be the first time it actually got to be up on stage.

Last night the National Theatre of Iceland premiered “Útsending” by Lee Hall, based on the film “Network” (1976) by Paddy Chayefsky. CasparCG is configured for 16 channels of video playout and graphics and is mostly controlled by the stock CCG Client along with additional software controllers.

Since much of the play takes place in a TV studio, a fully functional production gallery is the main piece of the set design.

I had the pleasure of helping them out on this project, which was especially fun since I started out in theatre before moving to film and television.
