Caspar 2.07 Shutdown

Hi
Did anyone have shutdown problems with 2.07
I’m running 2.07 with windows 10 and without Internet only plug in at local network my server shutdown randomly. I have try several dns 8.8.8.8 // 192.168.1.1 // IP of pc nothing change server still shutdown even after few seconds of running.
The only solution for work without problems is to start server without network cable plug at modem. After server start I can plug the cable and server keep running from then
At windows 7 I have never issues like that.

Out of interest, could you post your casparcg.config file here, please?

The next step in the troubleshooting for you would be to set

<log-level>debug</log-level>

in the config file and restart CasparCG. Then you might get some better clues in the log files.

First of all you should test a newer version: http://builds.casparcg.com/

Make sure you have latest drivers for graphics card, decklink and the latest .net framework and visual C++ redistributable.

Also if you have more than one network interface, try disabling all but one.

If you still have issues we need:

Hi
Thanks for your answer.
I already try with all servers even with 2.06 I use various decklink drivers. This problem occurs in several PC (ONLY WITH WINDOWS 10) even to my laptop.
If PC connect to modem (or switcher) without internet connection problem exist,
If I unplugged the network cable and start server and then connect network cable everything works.
So I dont think is driver problem etc. because after that trick everything works fine.

That is super weird, as I run 2.0.7 on a few Windows 10 machines, without unpluging the network cable :grinning:

Please provide the casparcg.config and system information dump if you still need help with this.

Hi
I send one of my config and one of system info

thanks very much for your interest and your help

Does the same thing happen with a minimally configured CCG using this config:

<?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?>
<configuration>
  <paths></paths>
  <channels></channels>
  <controllers></controllers>
</configuration>

NvWMI64 is the Nvidia Windows Management Instrumentation Provider

The first module to fail in CCG is Flash. So check the version. You might want to downgrade it.

(Note: I think it’s time to add an option of disabling loading of the Flash producer).

Then we have an issue with Visual C++ redistributable, wonder if it’s a failure with it trying to debug.
And last we have a fault in ntdll which could be anything related to the above.

Have you tried to run it as Administrator? Win 10 is much pickier in this area.

Are you actually using the <system-audio></system-audio>? if not I would remove it.

Hi
I have run it as administrator same results,
At most of my projects I need system audio

I will try with minimum config to see the difference and I post the results
thanks again

What I would do in such a situation: doing a fresh installation of W10, and then CCG.

You can have a bad update, or someting misconfigured (by accident )

All other is looking in the mist.

My 2 Rappen

Cheers, Thomas

Yes I think of that but already happen at 4 pc and specially one of them s full update and nearly two month old.
Last night I run some commands ipconfig/resetdns but without results the only progress is that if server doesnt close at the first seconds then keep running but before that it closes instantly about 6 times

Running any anti-virus or firewall-software? Looks like your complete network is sucked.

What I‘m doing, but this will help you maybe only in future: as I finished and tested my setup, I made a mirror. And after each production I‘m saving the templates and data, and bring back the mirror. And from time to time making another snapshot with. OS-updates.

In short: backup your data, and take the weekend for something fresh. Otherwise you‘ll go mad and crazy.

And then: mirroring, backuping

Have you tried running wireshark on your servers to see what is going on there?
Also as you have no internet, I would rather have a switch and every PC with a fixed IP address and no gateway

:+1: Fixed IPs are always a good choice  Makes‘ life in Broadcast easy :upside_down_face:

Yes I always use Static IP for all the PC in local network, useally I use modem router because I need wifi to send TCP to some tablets, but I have try also only with switcher
I have try to disable firewall antivirus( I haven’t extra software only that came with windows installation) same luck

When I start the topic I hope that someone else face the same problem I dint realize that will be the only one lol

I managed to replicate this.

  1. Disconnected network
  2. Configured the network as 192.168.29.29 / 255.255.255.0
  3. Configured DNS as 192.168.29.30 (certainly can’t be reached)

And got the same crash.

Empty DNS it seems to work just fine. Setting same IP for network and DNS also seems to work (since it can be reached).

Can you try with the “Use the following DNS…” checked but no IP’s for them.

I have the same problem. Server 2.07 stable crashes on windows 10 when no internet.

I didn’t investigate much and used server 2.1 beta2.
