Blackmagic ultra studio Mini Monitor as output channel

Hi, is it possible to use the Blackmagic UltraStudio Mini Monitor as an output for Caspar? I have connected one up but I haven’t been able to get Caspar to output from it. This is a one output only device so can’t do key and fill unlike it’s bigger brother the UltraStudio Mini. It add difficulty mine is a older model so can’t do 3G resolutions only upto 720P or 1080i.

I have a Decklink Intensity USB 3.0 working.

Hi Theo what settings did you use in config to get it to work as I have tried many and doesn’t function. The error is “could not enable secondary output”.

Could you share your config?

The error is “could not enable secondary output”.

That suggests your config is telling it to use multiple decklink ports, which doesn’t sound right as you have just one device/port.

I use a mini monitor 3g at times without issue, pretty sure the config can be as simple as:

<consumers>

    <decklink>
        <device>1</device>
    </decklink>

</consumers>

Thank you set this and still not working. The only error we get is “UltraStudio Mini Monitor failed to enable external keyer”. Everything else intialises but with this error no consumers work (we also have a NDI and Screen Consumer on this channel).

Don’t use the newest Decklink driver,
Version 12 should be ok

I use this setting

Unfortunately I had already updated the decklink driver to version 14.4.1 before i installed the ultrastudio. I have since got a ultrastudio 3G and can’t get that to work with caspar either but it does work with OBS.

Here is an update. I have backdated my firmware to Desktop Video Version 12 and it works on my 3G converter. I have used both XML configs and they both work. You have to set embedded audio to “True” on the simplier config to get audio.
