Security support for Windows 7 is ending January 14, 2020

Today I received the following message from Microsoft, “Security support for Windows 7 is ending January 14, 2020”. I guess its time to upgrade. I’m currently running a HP Z400. See specs below. My question is, can I upgrade to Windows 10 Pro with the version of the server I am running. I run the client on a Mac Mini.

Client 2.0.8:
CASPARCG_SERVER: HP Z400, 3.4Mhz,W 3565 4 core,12 GBs Ram (6 slots), Windows 7 Pro, 2 drives- SSD System & Media Drive, Nvidia Quadro 2000, Blackmagic Design Decklink HD Extreme 3 & MiniMonitor 4K, Clean install.
(Recently upgraded to Xeon 3.46 X5690 6 core processor and 24 GBs of ram)

In my experience that should be fine.

Are you running CasparCG on Windows 10?

I’ve been doing so for a good while now and I have no issues whatsoever. Now, I don’t use any of the Flash Player functionalities, but if you use them you should keep an eye on this thread.

Beyond that, you should be more than fine with Windows 10 Pro.
